Factors Affecting the Rates of Car Insurance

What you pay and who you determine, when you look for the rates of auto insurance. Premiums of auto insurance depend on various factors in which few can be controlled and there are few that are not convertible facts of life. Mathematically, a boy who is seventeen year old having a sports car of 300 horsepower in a large city is most likely to hit anyone rather than a married guy who is thirty seven year old, around the suburbs driving a minivan. In such cases you cannot get your age changed and few other factors, but can do few things that can keep the premiums of insurance as low as possible.

Things that cannot be changed that affects the rates of your auto insurance:
Your age
Sophia Loren and Dick Clark not withstanding, age factor cannot be avoided. Though you may have a youthful octogenarian or a mature look teen, the youngest and the oldest drivers are more prone to have accidents.
Gender
Statistically, women are said to be the safer drivers whether it is a few NASCAR fantasies or a mothering instinct.
Marital Status
Well, you can get it changed, but still there are no proofs that people just marry to get their rates of insurance lowered.
Things that can be changed that affect your rates of auto insurance:
Driving violations
Failure to yield, running at red lights and getting tickets for speeding, etc. these all are counted for your rates of auto insurance.
Geography
Your location matters. For example, if you stay in rural America, then there are fewer chances that your car gets vandalized or stolen than the ones staying in city. Though, at times just shifting across the street also makes a difference in your rates.
Accident claims
You cannot change the past, but keep your history clean and free of accidents as that will help you to lower your rates.
You're Vehicle
If you have a flashy car or sports car, then you should prepare yourself to pay higher premiums of insurance.
Occupation
It is unbelievable that insurers have found a link between risk and your occupation. Hence, a delivery guy of pizza can be at higher risk.
Credit rating
If you have poor or no history of credit, then in that case you are at higher risk to pay more premiums by most of the companies of insurance.
Other things that determine premiums
Distance to work
Miles driven per year
Number of years of experience of driving
Occupation
Vehicle used for the business purpose
Devices used for theft protection (more discounts are offered)
Whether you have or you do not have any current auto insurance
Multiple drivers and cars (more discounts are being offered)
Overwhelmed?
When deciding for your vehicle the most affordable coverage it gets very confusing to decide upon the best one. Similar to other things try to get the best advice and shop for comparison. If you have Internet at your place, then you have the power to get all information and the best deal.
